Marché du Film, first held in 1959, has a long history and takes place every May alongside the Cannes Film Festival. It attracts film professionals and industry players from over 120 countries, with more than ten thousand total attendance. It is regarded as a distinguished festival that combines the art and business of filmmaking. In addition to awards, Marché du Film features over 4,000 events, forums, and business matchmaking activities focused on different film categories. It has become a globally significant industry event that drives diverse perspectives, including film production and sales.

In 2023, Taiwanese works performed well, with post-production technology in the film industry being recognized. Two works supported by Taiwan’s International co-funding program from Taiwan Creative Content Agency have been selected to compete in the festival, including The Settlers from Chile in the Un Certain Regard section and Tiger Stripes in the parallel section Semaine de la Critique. In the Marché du Film, four works have been selected for various official sections, including Island of the Winds in the Cannes Docs documentary pitch competition, Salli in the HAF Goes to Cannes program, Chopin in Cannes Next｜Producers Pitching Their Projects, and the novel Before Becoming a Monster selected for the first time to participate in the Shoot the Book! pitch section, representing Taiwan.

TAICCA also sets up a Taiwan Pavilion and showcases 105 works at the market with 45 companies, TAICCA is participating in various collaborative events, including Spotlight Asia,  impACT Lab, Cannes Docs Documentary Screening and Pitch Competition, and the Taiwan Cinema Night. These events provide opportunities for Taiwanese filmmakers to network with international talents, expand their connections, and invite international professionals to participate in the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (November 7th to 12th), promoting more international co-productions and collaborations.
